PROGRAMMES OUTSIDE INDIA

Programmes outside India are usually hosted by a local organisation with the support of donors and/or like minded friends.

IN ETHIOPIA

In Ethiopia, the programme in Mekelle was hosted by Women’s Association of Tigray with the support of their donor. The purpose was to introduce the concept of self help among its members who earlier had rifles in their hands in the struggle for freedom.

IN UK

In UK, programmes have been organised by In Control UK and Partners for Inclusion, Scotland. Seminar talks have been  organised in different cities by former participants of Manavodaya. The Director has  had the honour of speaking to British MPs on Rationalising Aid to Developing Countries.

IN NORWAY

In Norway, Lillehammer College and Akershus College have organised programmes for its faculty and students. The Director also had the honour of giving a keynote address at the Annual Conference of the Norwegian Peace Corps (Fredskorpset) attended by more than fifty countries from all over the world.

IN KENYA

Around 30 women leaders and staff of Kenya Connect attended a week long programme on Facilitation Methods and Values for Women’s Empowerment through Self Help Groups at Wamunyu, Kenya. The women loved the programme as it contained practical tips on several issues relevant to their life and work. In their words it helped them in expanding their minds.
